Getting Print Users Started (Secure Release)

After Print Scouts are deployed to user workstations, a print user can launch the Pharos Print desktop app from the task notification area (i.e. system tray area) located at the right end of your screen. Click the Pharos Print desktop app icon to launch the app.

Note: Users will receive an invitation email with instructions on how to get started with Secure Release.

Note: For workstations running Linux, users can register to Secure Release by sending a print job to the default Secure Printer.

How to register for Secure Release

Before print users can release jobs from secure printers, they must first register for Secure Release The following section provides instructions on how print users register for Secure Release.

Step 1: Register for Secure Release.

The way in which users register for Secure Release depends on the authentication provider set up in the Settings screen.

Note: The Active Directory authentication provider does not require user registration. This means users can submit and release print jobs at once.

Step 2: Activate Release Methods. Choose the release method that you want to set up. This sets up how you release (print) your documents.

Language Support

The following user-facing components of Secure Release support translations.

  • The Mobile App will display screens in the language set on a user's mobile device.
  • The Pharos Print desktop app will display screens in the local language set on the user's operating system.
  • Secure Printers (iMFPs) running embedded software will display Secure Release screens in the language set for the device.

Note: If an unsupported language is detected, the user-facing components will display in English.
